Today is about a supposed cousin – Siegmund Epstein. Siegmund was born in Krefeld, Germany to Ludwig Epstein and Helena Lehmann. When he was a child his parents passed away and he was sent to live with family – Davy Levy and Rosa Salomon Herz. David Levy was the brother of my fourth great grandfather Gompel Levy. David had a daughter named Sara who married a man named Salomon Moses Cohen with whom Siegmund opened a department store in Duisburg called Cohen and Epstein. After their deaths the store was run but Siegmund’s son Harry until World War II.
