Tobias van Cleeff, one of my 3rd great grandfathers, was born on August 30, 1783 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands to Isaac van Cleeff and Klara de Mets-Maarsen. He was married to Leentje Levisson from Leiden. He founded the trading company called Tobias van Cleeff and Zonen (sons). According to one website he traded in hosiery. He may have also dealt in dry goods (another theme in my tree).
