A year of updates in one post

Apparently it has been a little less than a year since I last updated my blog.  I guess I should work on that.

At the beginning of the year a film documenting my grandmother’s cousin Bertram was in the fundraising stage and since that time various family member have copies on DVD and is also available on YouTube – There are three versions Dutch no subtitles – English Subtitles – Hebrew Subtitles – still looking for it

I also decided to re-do my entire tree as well as attempt to write a family history about one of the branches.  The family history is one hold as I haven’t really been able to figure out what I want to say and how to say it with out getting repetitive.  Since I always feel the need to be as complete as possible I based what I was working on by my 4th great grantparents on all my branches.  I tried to be as complete as possible with all of their descendants.  With some branches I did go further back and work through their descendants.  I did find some out some new things and maybe some answers to my dead ends.

As I mentioned I ordered some records from Poland.  They did help a little but did not provide the information I was looking for.  Also with the release of the 1940’s census I found some more Rothstein info and subsequently a descendant of the mysterious Manny Rothstein.  I am still looking for more though.

Last May I was accepted to the University of Amsterdam in their Masters program for Holocaust studies.  Now I just need to find funding.

That is all for now.  I will try to update more.
