#FamilyTree365 – Day 31 October 1, 2016

My great grandmother Bertha had three siblings that did not survive the holocaust – Salomon Isaak, Israel Wolf, and Ernestyna Tillinger.  However of all three, and of all seven siblings, Ernestyna is my biggest mystery.  Ernestyna was born on May 31, 1890 in Stanislwow in the Austrian province of Galicia.  When the family moved to Vienna she went with them and lived there for about 10 years (I am hypothesizing, I don’t know years for everything) before moving back to Stanislwow.  While there she married a man named Israel Chaim Tillinger (her cousin?).  Together they had a daughter named Francia or Fanny.

Now the mystery here is that supposedly this family was murdered in the Holocaust.  However I have not been able to find anything on Yad’V’Shem indicating this.  In the 1950’s Bertha’s daughter Paula did an ITS search but my guess is nothing came from it.  Hopefully this upcoming year I can do more to figure it all out.
